sorry for the late reply, but if you're? grown, you CAN get type 2 diabetes if you don't care for yourself, for example if you eat much sugar foods and candy or if you smoke and don't train or anything, but type 2 is very VERY different from type 1.

the best part of having diabetes is that i get to make jokes? about it while everyone else becomes increasingly uncomfortable. What's a diabetic's favorite board game? Sugar-free Candyland.
By: Yeeep77. on 31 Mar 12, 15:14:55
I think I can answer your question. There are 3 most popular reasons: 1. Your pancreas might be weaker than it? should be (don't really know why- it just is) and it's not able to produce enugh insulin. 2. It may be influenced by some genes. Even if no one in your family actually has it, they might be carriers and they can make you diabetic. 3. (most probable and common issue) Your beta cells were attacked by your own immune system, which considered them as heterogenic and dangerous.

there i so much awareness with type 2 diabetes it pisses me off when i say I'm diabetic.. no one in new zealand at least knows what type one? is... but type 2 is all the rage
By: LillyxSayuki. on 28 Mar 12, 20:10:50
No you do not get type 1 diabetes by eating sugary foods and/or candy. Type 1 diabetes cannot be avoided - it comes whenever it wants to. Genetic? No one in my family has it but me.... so I don't? know how exactly type 1 diabetes is caused :/

(READ MY PREVIOUS COMMENT) so you will have to take more insulin? again.
By: username42a. on 23 Mar 12, 20:58:17
For some reason, which nobody has yet figured out, the defensive systems in your body attacks the cells in your pancrea that creates insulin, when the diabetes have "broken out" which means the defensive systems have started attacking the insulin-producing cells in your pancrea, after a very short time, the pancrea will start producing more insulin, so you wont have to take as much, but after about a year, nearly all of the cells in your pancrea? creating insulin will be gone, (READ NEXT COMMENT)

I'm sorry, I don't understand? what you said after "find out you do"....
By: girrg6. on 18 Mar 12, 07:20:45
it really is and its kind of sad because people with type one diabetes have no insulin in our(their) pancreas and when you think about it deeply it feels like you are no longer the same you until you find out you do have well if you? were a person with my same type of case
