Nice speech, but the part about coke is bullshit and anecdotal. I and a lot of people i know have tried cocaine to no ill effect. Only one of upwards of 50 people did it ever become a problem for. It turned her into an dick for the duration but? she didn't get near "wanting to be dead" before she quit. The way he is talking about it makes me think he's talking about crack cocaine as apposed to the regular kind and that he's not calling it crack because of the stigma. I wouldn't blame him.

Yes, Aaron Sorkin stole from William Richerts Script.? The studio bought the rights to William Richert's script, and Aaron Sorkin might possibly have read it. However, it doesn't matter. Why? Because the studio owned the rights to the script, they could do whatever they wanted to with it! I'm a screenwriter myself and yes sometimes you sell scripts that get changed by the studios, tough shit. Apparently, he didn't read the contract when he signed over his screenplay to the studio.

IMDB does state that apparently Letters from Iwo Jima is in fact based on TWO books. Non Fiction works admittedly, but the films screenplay is still 'based on material previously produced or? published', the definition of an adapted screenplay. The only thing that would make it original, is if the books were unpublished at the time the script was written

The Director does a lot more work than the key assistant and writers are not exactly the highest payed in the chain even though with out their script there would be no movie. I'm all for people getting paid fairly but the idea that Aaron sorkin didn't earn every dime he made on this movie or David Fincher? is just plain ridiculous.

The man is? indeed a genius. After watching The West Wing over and over again, it feels like I know him like an old friend. He always did come across as slightly unimpressive in these kind? of interviews though, but that's the case with many great writers; they're all clumsy and shy and awkward in person, but give them a typewriter and they become brilliant men of the world.

I think it's worth noting that Aaron Sorkin always repeats the same old story in? all of his interviews. He memorizes a template written for him by a panel of writers. I tried to watch your video about his alleged plagiarism and lasted about two minutes. You need to rehearse what you are going to say much more thoroughly then you did; there were long pauses in between nearly every word you said rendering it difficult to listen to you for any length of time. I would have liked to hear about this but its disconcerting to have to listen to it ... word ... after ... word. Remember you are competing against professional? Attacking Jersey Shore is low hanging? fruit. There are plenty of smart TV shows on television. I never said Sorkin wasn't good; Social Network and WW are outstanding. Actors on Studio 60 were great too. But Sorkin should've hired real comedy writers to write the skits and the main characters wouldn't have come off so terribly. Nothing worse than watching TV writers complain about there not being enough quality television when they're actually adding to the problem.
